Rates of homelessness in Brisbane are growing at an alarming rate: with rents increasing seven times faster than wages, more and more people are being forced to live in tents, cars, or to sleep rough in public spaces such as Musgrave Park and around the Go-Between Bridge. The Salvation Army estimates that more than 10,000 people will spend tonight without a home.
That’s why Brisbane Renters Alliance is starting a new campaign to support and protect rough sleepers around Brisbane and to fight homelessness. Are you keen to get involved? Whether you are interested in helping us plan upcoming actions, or just want to be notified of when these actions are, you can sign up below to be a part of our new campaign.
